Hi! I’m Ashley Sorensen.

I am a bisexual artist who has been creating since 2013 when I first picked up a camera, and earned my BA in Film and Media Production in the Fall of 2020. Since the start of my career, I have worked as a videographer, video editor, and multimedia developer for educational platforms such as Arizona State University and the K-12 online school, StrongMind. In addition to videography, I have experience with freelance photography ranging from graduation portraits to cosplay sessions. When I am not behind the camera, I assist filmmakers with producing their freelance work by obtaining permits, auditioning and hiring actors, and managing film budgets and schedules.

My goal with any project is to find the story we are wanting to tell our audience, and discover the best medium to create it in. Whether that be through a camera or the written word.

Some of my recent work has been showcased at the Lady Filmmakers Festival (2022), Nashville Screenwriters Competition (2021), and Photographers Forum (2017). Currently, I am in the process of publishing my first children’s book, and hope to publish more in the future!

Outside of work, you can find me cuddling with my cat, talking about my cat, taking pictures of my cat, or - if I am not home - scrolling through the hundreds of pictures I have of my cat. Would you believe me if I said I only grew up with dogs?

I enjoy writing, reading mystery and fantasy books, traveling, practicing special effects makeup, and trying new things (I most recently tried aerial performance and pottery). I value creative brainstorming, environments where feedback is received and accepted in a safe space, and clear communication.

I would love the opportunity to meet with you - whether it be over the phone or at a local coffee shop - to see if we would be a good fit to create together.
